CAREER

Luigi Reniery is a Honduran-Spanish director, screenwriter and actor based in Madrid. After beginning his artistic journey as an actor, he found in screenwriting and film direction the space from which to build a distinctive voice. He trained in Film and Television Direction at Escuela Metrópolis c.e. under director Guillermo Groizard.

His work inhabits the border between reality and the invisible, exploring the fears, desires and inner conflicts that shape human experience. Fascinated by the mechanisms of perception and the fragility of identity, he develops stories where the psychological, emotional and fantastic converge to create immersive, profoundly human cinematic experiences.

His cinematic language is defined by a strong visual sensibility, evocative atmospheres and a constant search for authentic emotion. Death, memory, love, guilt and personal transformation run through a filmography that combines genre cinema with an intimate, sensory gaze.

He has directed the short film Mamá and the music video 7 Seconds, both recognised at the Gustavitos Awards, as well as The Invitation, The Portal and The Aunt Maru, selected and awarded at international festivals. In 2025 he directed Amets Gorriak, a Basque Gothic horror tale produced by AVA One Million Films.

He is currently developing the feature films Fears, The Red Dream and Tela — The Last Sanctuary: three stories connected by a single authorial vision and a shared question about identity, memory and what remains hidden beneath the surface.
